Dream Vancouver

Between October 2007 and November 2008, Think City brought citizens together through the Dream Vancouver initiative to discuss their public policy ideas and priorities for the City of Vancouver. The objective of Dream Vancouver was to get people to participate in dreaming about their city.

Think City hosted, listened and involved thousands of people at the Dream Vancouver conference, forums and workshops, and through our public surveys. Fifteen policy priorities that highlighted potential solutions for affordable housing, transportation and citizen engagement were developed during that period.

The Dream Vancouver 15 options were then presented to all three major municipal parties seeking office in the November 2008 municipal election. All parties supported a majority of the options, and the governing COPE/Vision majority on city council led by Mayor Gregor Robertson supported all 15 options strongly or very strongly.

Think City is now seeking the implementation of all Dream 15 solutions in Vancouver, providing citizen input through city hall- and community-driven processes.
