Olympic Village Forum - Feb. 22
It's been a year since we hosted the Winter Games and the public is still asking what went wrong (and right) with the Olympic Village project? What could have been done differently? What are the housing, planning and other policy lessons?
Think City held a special Olympic Village forum on Tuesday, February 22 to review the lessons from this high-profile project. How can the Olympic Village experience improve the way we do housing, development, and planning across the Metro Vancouver region?
The expert panel included developer Michael Geller, UBC Associate Vice President Nancy Knight, SFU Professor Doug McArthur, and city councilor Geoff Meggs. The forum was moderated by Vancouver journalist and blogger Frances Bula and was co-sponsored by the Planning Institute of BC and Simon Fraser University's School of Public Policy.
