Don Gillmore Biography

Don Gillmore, trained as an architect and is currently the manager of the Building Excellence Capital Improvement Program, a $1.5 billion dollar school re-construction program consisting of new construction, historic restoration, seismic and infrastructure upgrading of ten school sites within the Seattle metropolitan area.

Mr. Gillmore has extensive experience in facilities planning, design, and budgeting and construction management. He has dedicated his last twenty years to public school K-12 projects in the Puget Sound area. For the last eleven years, he has been the Construction Program Manager for the Seattle School District.

He is a member of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International and has presented papers on topics as diverse as the constraints facing urban public schools to sustainability and school construction.
